You might want to double check your credit card statement. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said a credit card skimming device was found on a gas pump at the Crosby’s on Lake Road in Hamlin. Authorities said it appears the person responsible used a special tool to open the pump and place a ribbon wire with a microchip attached to it, inside. The device was found on Friday but it’s not known how long the device was there. A similar skimming device was found at the Crosby's in Kendall, NY. The investigation is ongoing.
