Mayor Lovely Warren called into the Brother Wease Show on Friday to discuss her controversial comments about Tom Golisano's $25 million donation for a new performing arts center.

Berkeley Brean: 80 years ago, if George Eastman said this is what I'm willing to spend money on, I think the city would have said, 'Okay let's do what George Eastman wants. And you could argue that Tom Golisano is the modern day George Eastman and so if Mr. Golisano is willing to write a check for $25 million I'm wondering why the city isn't saying, okay let's do it. Parcel 5 let's just do it.
Mayor Lovely Warren: So if 85 years ago if George Eastman would have said that he would have built the whole thing. So the cost of the performing arts center costs $80 million. And so $25 million is not enough to build the entire facility. So if Tom Golisano came and said, 'I want a performing arts center in downtown Rochester and here's a check for $80 million,' I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be here having this discussion today.
