Parents in Victor are considering legal action after a controversial book was written and published on Amazon by a group of senior high school students. 13WHAM spoke to parents who said the poems bash gays and minorities. Sources told 13WHAM the book was written on school property.
Victor Central Schools denied that in a written statement released last week:
"Yesterday, a local media outlet reported on a haiku book written by a small group of Victor Senior High School students outside of the classroom setting and published on Amazon. School administrators became aware of the book in mid April and an investigation immediately took place. During the investigation it became evident that the intent of the students’ work, while highly inappropriate, was not meant to hurt or harm, rather it was intended to be humorous and satirical. Those students involved with the book have since been disciplined in accordance with the school’s code of conduct."
