50 dead, Over 400 Injured in Las Vegas Strip Shooting

More than 50 people were killed and over 400 injured Sunday night in Las Vegas when a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel. The final night of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival was taking place across the street from Mandalay Bay when the shooting took place. Witnesses described "nonstop gunfire." People initially thought fireworks were going off. ATF agents have responded to the scene and the FBI is assisting with the investigation. "Pray for Las Vegas. Thank you to all our first responders out there now," Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman said via Twitter. Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man from Mesquite, NV, has been identified as the suspected gunman. He was killed by police.
