Rochester Mother Accused of Abandoning Children in Apartment

A Rochester woman who is accused of abandoning her two young children in a filthy apartment has been indicted on child endangerment charges. A Monroe County Grand Jury indicted Sharisa Vazquez on two counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of abandonment of a child and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Rochester Police Investigators said they found two children, ages 1-year-old and 3-years-old, alone at the apartment on Ridgeway Avenue on January 7. Monroe County CPS was also contacted as part of the investigation.
