URMC Professor Accused of Drugging and Raping Student

A former University of Rochester Medical Center student is accusing a faculty member of raping her repeatedly and attempting to involve her boyfriend in murdering his ex-wife.  According to News10NBC, Katia Kaplan-List filed the lawsuit. Katia Kaplan-List was a medical resident under the direct supervision of Johan Blickman, vice chair of URMC's Department of Imaging Sciences and a professor in pediatrics, during a rotation in her residency in August of 2014. Kaplan-List claims Blickman invited her to his house to discuss a research project, then drugged and raped her. Kaplan-List said Blickman took pictures of her in "embarrassing sexual situations" and said he would use the pictures to "humiliate her and ... destroy her career" if she reported his actions. Blickman allegedly admitted drugging and raping Kaplan-List to her boyfriend.  Kaplan-List claims Blickman attempted to involve her boyfriend in killing Blickman's ex-wife.  He also allegedly continued to coerce Kaplan-List to have sex with him. He began making "bizarre requests" of her, including role-playing that she was a child patient and then molesting her, and having sexual contact with his dog. Kaplan-List is seeking $30 million in damages from Blickman, University of Rochester, and Strong Memorial Hospital
