Rochester City Court Judge Leticia Astacio has been arrested again. Astacio was charged with attempted criminal purchase or disposal of a weapon. The felony charge is related to Astacio's attempt to buy a shotgun last week at the Dick's Sporting Goods store at Marketplace Mall in Henrietta. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Astacio went into the Dick's Sporting Goods store at Marketplace Mall and attempted to purchase a shotgun. Sheriff Todd Baxter said Astacio tried to buy a shotgun at Dick's Sporting Goods at The Mall at Greece Ridge before going to Henrietta. The Greece assistant manager said that the Astacio had seemed distraught and they did not feel comfortable selling her a gun. Astacio has been on probation following her arrest for drunk driving in 2016. She hasn't shown up to work for weeks, but still continues to collect her over $170,000 year salary. She is currently in the midst of a ten-year term and only the state Judicial Commission can remove her from the bench. The commission has yet to act on the situation. Astacio was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to return to Henrietta Town Court on May 3 at 5 p.m.
