An 18-year-old Webster graduate was killed in a car accident Sunday morning. Police say a car crashed into a tree and caught fire on Gasberry Lane after 1 a.m. A Good Samaritan pulled six people from the car before police arrived. The driver, Brody Spade, 18, of Webster, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Five other occupants, ranging in age from 16 to 18, were taken to the hospital. They remain hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Police believe speed was a factor in the crash.
In a statement, the Webster Central School District offered its condolences for the families impacted and says its counseling teams will be available to students in response to the accident.
"Our entire Warrior family is profoundly saddened by this news. Our thoughts and prayers as a school community are with all who were involved with this terrible accident," district officials said in a statement.
