A case of the U.K. variant of COVID-19 was detected in Ontario County. The governor’s office announced 18 new cases of the variant Tuesday, one of which was in Ontario County. The variant is only found through random testing. According to health officials in the county, the case was detected during routine surveillance, and the patient has already recovered.
