A Fairport man has pleaded guilty to charges in Federal Court related to an illegal snake collection. U.S. Attorneys say that from April 2011 through July 2012, Michael Collalto collected a number of different species of snake that were illegally obtained from New Jersey and Oregon. Collalto's pleaded guilty to four violations of interstate transport or receipt of illegally taken wildlife. The 50-year-old was sentenced to four years probation, 300 hours of community service, and a $5,000 fine.
