A Family Court judge ordered an addict-prostitute to not get pregnant again until she was able to care for her newborn son. It is the fourth child removed from her care because of neglect. According to the Democrat & Chronicle, Family Court Judge Patricia Gallaher made the decision in December. The Monroe County Public Defender's Office represented the mother in the case and may appeal. The New York Civil Liberties Union, or NYCLU, is also considering helping with an appeal. Gallaher was a legal clerk to retired Monroe County Family Court Judge Marilyn O'Connor. Judge O'Connor issued a similar ruling in 2004 that made national news.
