Children Read to Shelter Dogs at Animal Shelter

A group of students celebrated Read Across America Day by reading Dr. Seuss books to shelter animals at the Humane Society of Missouri this week. The Humane Society of Missouri hosts reading sessions through its "Shelter Buddies Reading Program" seven days a week.  Children go through a training session to participate in the program. Officials say it helps the dogs with anxiety and children improve their reading skills.
