New video captured hours before Michael Brown was killed shows the 18-year-old exchanging marijuana for cigarillos with store clerks at Ferguson Market in Missouri. Brown was shot to death by Officer Darren Wilson. Wilson stopped Brown and a friend because "they were in the middle of the street, blocking traffic."
The security footage is part of a new documentary "Stranger Fruit." The documentary director, Jason Pollock, said the video casts doubt on the police narrative that the teenager robbed a convenience store before he was shot. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Ferguson Market attorney Jay Kanzler reiterated there was no exchange of drugs for cigarillos. He told CNN the full video will be released Monday and will put to rest the “Stranger Fruits” filmmakers "edited version of events."
Brown's death spurred violent protests and unrest in the St. Louis suburb for weeks.
