The Geneseo High School Varsity Football season is over amid a police investigation into alleged drug use by some players. The Geneseo Police Department and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office are investigating the incident, which they say allegedly took place prior to Friday's game against Bolivar-Richburg. Police say a player took Oxycontin from a parent without the parent's knowledge or permission and gave the pills to several other players before the game. School district officials released a statement that the team was forfeiting that game and the remainder of the season. Officials said it is because of the number of student-athletes involved and the serious nature of this incident. The JV and Modified Football Teams will continue their seasons as planned. No arrests have been made.
