All bus drivers in New York are going to be able to give allergy medicine to children in emergency situations. That's according to a new law that takes effect today. The measure will allow contracted drivers or those who work for a school to administer EpiPens or other emergency allergy remedies to children having allergic reactions. Lawmakers note that children allergic to such things as foods and insect stings can suffer severe, even deadly reactions.
