New York State Police say a trooper is facing charges after she allegedly falsely reported an incident while off-duty. Investigators said Brianna Smith, 25,reported a domestic incident on December 20 in Batavia. She allegedly told investigators she was menaced with a weapon. Smith is charged with offering a false instrument for filing and falsely reporting an incident. Troopers say it was later determined a weapon was not displayed or used. Smith was issued an appearance ticket for Batavia Town Court.
