A Wayne County pediatrician has been arrested on federal child porn charges after what began with an investigation into a dark web site located in Arizona.
U.S. Attorney J.P. Kennedy says Doctor David Blasczak of Lyons was found to have thousands of child porn images when Homeland Security investigators searched his home. They were led to Blasczak through a credit card used to buy porn images from that website.
Kennedy says Blasczak had access to hundreds of children through his pediatric practice in Clyde. Kennedy says Blasczak claimed under questioning that he never abused children who were his patients. But he admitted under further questioning to photographing his young patients' genitals, claiming it was for a research project that didn't exist. He says Blasczak also had access to children who had sleepovers with his own children at his home in Lyons.
Doctor Blasczak will be in federal court tomorrow for a custody hearing. Anyone who believes their child might have been in contact with him is asked to call HSI's office in Buffalo.
