JCC of Rochester Reopening - But Only if You Enter Through Henrietta

Rochester's Jewish Community Center will reopen on Tuesday, but only if you enter through Henrietta because the doors are outside of the Orange Zone. The JCC had closed its fitness and aquatic facilities when Brighton was put into an Orange Zone. However, the JCC says that they've since been informed that since the athletic and aquatic facilities are geographically in Henrietta, they can remain open so long as the usual COVID-19 protocols are followed. However, anyone using them will have to enter and exit through a set of doors that is on Henrietta property.

"Based on guidance from New York State, the Louis S. Wolk Jewish Community Center is re-opening its doors to our fitness and aquatics members effective Tuesday, December 1st at 6am. The JCC's location straddles the Brighton and Henrietta borders, with the Center’s fitness and aquatics facilities residing in Henrietta. NYS has informed the JCC that the area of our building in Henrietta is not affected by the orange zone restriction, and therefore members can utilize the Center by entering and exiting the building through doors on the Henrietta property," the JCC said in a letter to mailing list subscribers posted on its website.

Reservations will still be required for the pools, classes, and racquet sports.
