Local health leaders say the U.K. variant of COVID-19 has been detected in Monroe County. However, they say this is not a cause for panic. Dr. Michael Mendoza says the U.K. variant was found in two patients in Monroe County. A few patients with the California variant were detected. Mendoza says the county has not seen a surge along with these detected strains.
