Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire that claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy. The fire started on Hague Street around 9:45 a.m. Monday. According to the Rochester Police Locust Club, officers were the first ones to respond to the scene because they were on the street for an unrelated incident. Three officers went into the building and rescued several residents from the home. Two officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A 12-year-old boy was found inside the house by firefighters. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. The fire started on the first floor and took 45 minutes to get under control.
