Police are investigating a carjacking near Pittsford Plaza. Investigators say s man shoved the driver out of a Honda CRV as it was at a stoplight at Pittsford Plaza, then stole the vehicle and drove away. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office the carjacking was preceded by a purse snatching outside of the Barnes & Noble at Pittsford Plaza. Deputies say a man grabbed a purse from a woman's shoulder, then used her key fob to try to locate her car. She chased after him and he ran to Monroe Avenue. The suspect then spotted the CRV at the stoplight, opened the passenger door and pushed the driver out. This all happened around 6:45 p.m. The Sheriff's Office also released photos of the suspect and asked that anyone with information as to his identity or whereabouts call the office tipline at 585-753-4175.
