WATCH: A Man Died in RPD Custody, Family Wants Charges

The family of a black Chicago man who died in March is accusing the Rochester Police officers who restrained him of killing him. The family of Daniel Prude reportedly plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the city.

Prude's brother Joe says his brother was having a mental health crisis. He says he called 911 that night to get help for his brother. The conduct of the police officers involved is being investigated by the state Attorney General's office. Black Lives Matter activists are calling for the officers involved to be fired.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren says that the Attorney General's investigation is still ongoing, and that nothing can move forward until the AG's case is closed. Mayor Warren says she has seen the body camera footage and says it is disturbing.
