Rochester Officer Fatally Shoots Person, NYS Attorney General Investigating

A person was shot and killed by a Rochester police officer on Glasser Street, near Masseth early this morning. Police responded to a Shot Spotter activation on Lyell Avenue and spotted the suspect vehicle on Glasser. Police say officers made a traffic stop and the person in the car was shot. Multiple rounds were fired. The New York Attorney Generals's Office is now investigating the incident.

Rochester Police Captain Mark Mura says the officers pulled a car over and one of the people refused to get out of the car. A short time later the officers "observed a handgun in the suspect's possession."

Mura also reveled that an officer shot into the vehicle, killing a man in his 20s. We don't know if that man pointed or fired a gun, and we don't know how many people were in the car.

We'll have Berkeley Brean from News10 NBC on today to talk more about this. Meanwhile, 10NBC's Emily Putnam has been on the scene...
