The New York State Board of Elections has found evidence that Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren violated campaign finance laws in her re-election campaign three years ago.
13 WHAM says it's learned a 35 page report has been produced, leading to a round of subpoenas. The report names Mayor Warren, the treasurer of her re-election campaign and the treasurer of her Political Action Committee, who is also a City Hall employee.
Warren's Attorney, Joe Damelio, tells 13 WHAM his client has done nothing wrong and is ready to defend herself.
Mayor Warren says she has no comment beyond what she said back during the campaign when opponents accused her of mixing her campaign and political action committees, which is illegal.
The state report delves into whether Mayor Warren used her PAC, Warren for a Stronger Rochester, to get around the state cap on how much individual donors can give to a re-election campaign, which is just over $8,500.
